Sui Dhaaga And Pataakha Box-Office Collection, Day 2: Anushka Sharma - Varun Dhawan Steal The Show From Warring Sisters
On Day 2, Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma starrer Sui Dhaaga seems to be going strong at the box-office. Sanya Malhotra and Radhika Madan’s Pataakha on the other hand continues to struggle
Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma starrer Sui Dhaaga seems
to be on the right track. The film opened on a decent note and raked in Rs 8.30
crore. Now, the family entertainer has struck the chord with its target
audience and collected Rs 12.25 crore on Day 2.
Trade expert Taran Adarsh took to social media to
announce the figures. He wrote, "#SuiDhaaga zooms upwards on Day 2...
Catches speed at metros and mass belt... The target audience [families] have
taken to the film, thus converting into increased footfalls... Expect a SOLID
Day 3... Fri 8.30 cr, Sat 12.25 cr. Total: ₹ 20.55 cr [2500 screens].

SpotboyE.com Editor Vickey Lalwani gave the movie three
stars and wrote, "I begin with Varun Dhawan, the boy has put in a very
intense performance. He is so lovable, that you will definitely identify with
his character if you have struggled in your early days (which I did). I quite
like him more when he sports a moustache, do you? As for Anushka Sharma, I
could not believe my eyes. She is so good. Marvellous is the word, hardly any
dialogues and lots of expressions- isn't that what real acting is all
about? An extra inch for Anushka? Hmmm... nope, it's a tie between Varun and
her. In far less than its run of 122 minutes, the endearing Sui Dhaaga drives
home the message that love is not about holding hands, necking, kissing and
having sex. Sui Dhaaga teaches you that your parents may not be on the same
page with you, but you should not neglect them. Sui Dhaaga tells you that never
work in an organisation that humiliates you. Sui Dhaaga conveys that you have
an inner talent and don't listen to your head and stagnate on the same career
path if your heart flutters otherwise."
On the other hand, Vishal Bhardwaj's Pataakha collected Rs 90 lakh on day 1 and has made Rs 1.40 crore on Day 2. Evidently, this is not a great
figure and the film will have to register a solid Day 3 figure to hold itself.
Trade expert Taran Adarsh took to social media to share
the collections. He tweeted, "#Pataakha shows positive trending on Day 2,
but needs to recover lost ground by maintaining a strong momentum on Day 3 and
subsequent days... Will get advantage of holiday on Day 5 [Tue]... Fri 90
lakhs, Sat 1.40 cr. Total: ₹ 2.30 cr [875 screens]. India biz

SpotboyE.com Editor Vickey Lalwani gave the film two and
a half stars. In his review he wrote, "Jhagdalu sisters (Sanya Malhotra
playing to the gallery) and Vijay Raaz's (drawing empathy) put their best
forward in screen times, which they may find hard to get soon again. But why
are they fighting? Hardly for a reason. At some point in the film, it is
explained that it’s just like the enemity between Bharat and Pakistan, uff! And
the ladies continue to fight, so much so that one of them almost lifts her top
and says 'mere kabutar'. Hats off to Vijay Raaz's consistency, the man is at it
again. And Sunil Grover is superb! More praise for Sanya and Radhika, it wasn't
an easy film to shoot- outdoors, rural areas, kicks, punches, deglam look and
lots more than the easy conventional stuff."
